HIT KIDS MAGIC SHOW, TRICKY TV RECOMMISSIONED FOR THIRD SERIES
21 April 2010
The Foundation, part of the RDF Media Group is delighted to announce that the hit kid’s magic show, Tricky TV, has been re commissioned by CITV for a third series.
Produced by RDF’s in-house production company, The Foundation, Tricky TV (20x25’) presented by Stephen Mulhern (Britain's Got More Talent, Animals Do The Funniest Things, Ministry Of Mayhem, Quick Trick Show) showcases some of the coolest magic tricks around.
Series 3 will retain many of the much-loved strands but with a new twist. Instead of performing all of the tricks himself, Stephen will be joined by a crack selection of fellow tricksters aged 8-15 to boggle the brains of the viewing public. Each young member of this unique, hand-picked group will showcase their own brand of magic from locations all over the UK.
Fans of the series can look forward to all of the usual segments showcased in the last two series such as: the popular ‘Wicked Wind Ups’ which uses hidden cameras to hilarious effect; ‘The Secret Circle’ which reveals the secret behind an incredible trick and how it can be replicated at home and the ‘Big Trick’ where the Tricky team perform world class illusions, guaranteed to astonish the audience.
Vanessa Hill, Executive Producer, the Foundation comments: “We are delighted to be producing a third series of Tricky TV for CITV. We have scoured the length and breadth of the country to find some amazing young magicians who will feature alongside Stephen, who, as always, brings his own inimitable style to the show. In this new series, viewers can look forward to picking up some more tricks of the magic trade, but we still have a few tricks up our sleeve that will leave the audience guessing!”
Emma Tennant, Controller, CITV comments: “We are thrilled to have a new series of Tricky TV on CITV and are excited to be moving the format of the show forward by introducing new young aspiring magicians. Magic is something that has a universal appeal and fascination and Tricky TV is a hugely entertaining series which really resonates with our audience.”
Tricky TV launched on CITV in 2005 and soon became a hit with its target audience, finishing its first series with a total audience of 680,000 viewers, a 16% share of all kids, and 23% share of 7-15 year olds. The news series will start in the autumn.
Internationally Tricky TV has already been picked up by a number of broadcasters including; Norwegian broadcaster NRK, MBC in the Middle East, Teletoon in France, Super RTL in Germany, Disney Japan, Nick India, Mediacorp in Singapore for Okto Channel and Cartoon Network in Korea, South East Asia , Australia, the Philippines and New Zealand.
