RDF RIGHTS TO RELEASE WAYBULOO SINGLE

28 July 2010

RDF Rights, part of the RDF Media Group, has licensed Demon Records the publishing rights to release a Waybuloo single. Waybuloo Time For Yogo is a happy and harmonious instrumental composition that features some key Pipling signature phrases and yogo movements that appear in the hit pre -school series, which airs on CBeebies.

Waybuloo Time For Yogo will be released digitally on August 9, 2010 and will be available to download from all digital ‘stores’. An accompanying music video has been exclusively created for iTunes / Mobile along with an exclusive Yogo instruction booklet, which will showcase the poses that appear in the music video.

Written and composed by the Waybuloo series composer, James Burrell, Brighter Day Music Limited, this uplifting single sits in the Waybuloo music family and resonates with the existing Waybuloo series sound track. Children will recognise and engage with phrases such as ‘Hi-Hi and ‘Time for yogo’ as well as being able to perform the accompanying yogo moves as they listen to the music and watch the music video.

The single will be followed up with a digital / CD album release on September 6, 2010.  Waybuloo a World of Musical Happiness include tracks such as ‘Where have all the Narabugs Gone?’ and ‘Snuggly Slide’ and the CD will include a free Waybuloo yogo instruction sheet featuring poses from the whole series.

Waybuloo Time for Yogo was released in response to the feedback from parents of children who watch the pre school series. *Quantitative research found that parents would welcome a Waybuloo album, with only 11% of parents stating that they wouldn’t buy or download a Waybuloo CD. Interaction and engagement of the TV show was found to be a key strength of the series, with 68% of the children who watch the show enjoy taking part in the yogo moves – something which has been translated to the single and music video - which comes with an accompanying yogo instruction booklet upon download.

Waybuloo is currently enjoying success both at home and abroad. Since its UK launch, in May 2009 on CBeebies, across 448 broadcasts, Waybuloo reached over 10 million individuals (20% of the UK population) in 2009.  Three quarters of the target audience tuned into at least one episode of Waybuloo last year (3.5m). The series now airs in 79 countries worldwide and RDF Rights have secured 34 licensees to date in the UK and in 2009 Waybuloo was the number one new pre-school property (NPD Q4 Plush (£)).

Waybuloo is produced by The Foundation, part of the RDF Media Group, and Decode Entertainment for CBeebies.

RDF Rights holds worldwide rights in all media in the property, with the exception of Canada where Decode Enterprises handles broadcast and home entertainment rights, and DHX Licensing represents consumer products rights. Both Decode Enterprises and DHX Licensing are subsidiaries of DHX Media.
